Flap Disc

Flap discs are a type of abrasive product that is used in metalworking and woodworking applications.
A flap disc consists of a circular flat disc made of fiberglass or plastic, which is coated with abrasive materials such as ceramic, zirconia, or aluminum oxide. The abrasive coating is applied in a layered pattern, which creates a series of flaps that are attached to the backing disc. These flaps are flexible and conform to the surface being worked on, allowing for a consistent finish.
Flap discs are available in different sizes, grits, and materials, making them suitable for a wide range of applications. They can be used for grinding, sanding, and finishing metal, wood, and plastic surfaces. They are particularly effective for removing welds, rust, and other surface imperfections.
One of the advantages of flap discs is their long life span. They are designed to be durable and to maintain their shape and abrasive properties over time, which reduces the need for frequent replacements. Additionally, flap discs are designed to generate less heat and dust compared to other abrasive products, making them a safer and cleaner option.
